System performance and optimization in NOMA mobile edge computing surveillance network using GA and PSO

Recent years have witnessed the computing process gradually move to edge network, close physical data source, serve applications that require large computations with very little latency. However, terminal wireless devices’ limited and energy resources pose obstacles practical implementation of these applications. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) based non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technology is solving this problem well thanks its ability many users high rates spectrum utilization efficiency. This study investigates performance optimization MEC surveillance systems using NOMA. Specifically, two camera units (CUs) perform monitoring task be accomplished by point (AP) through Rayleigh fading links. We then proposed four-phase protocol for system. Accordingly, we derive closed-form exact expressions successful computation probability (SCP) impact network parameters on system performance. Furthermore, propose compare three meta-heuristic-based algorithms, namely MSCP-GA, MSCP-PSO, MSCP-HGAPSO, find optimal set help achieve maximum SCP. The results show algorithms can significantly improve system’s 40% higher than when algorithm not used. Insights into pros cons different are also discussed in study. Finally, use Monte-Carlo simulation verify correctness
